SAN ANTONIO – After a man was shot and killed by a San Antonio police officer, one group is speaking out about that incident and other fatal shootings by police.
The rally was prompted by a shooting last Thursday night, where a police officer shot and killed Antronie Scott.
Police said the officer who shot him thought the man had a gun in his hand, but it was a phone.
The case has not been handed to the Bexar County District Attorney's Office yet, but when that happens KSAT was informed that there is no conflict of interest so, there will be no special prosecutor for the case.
"People look at national situations, but all I can do is worry about what we do here in Bexar County," said Nico LaHood, Bexar County district attorney. "I can't focus on national situations. I have to focus on what's right for us."
Organizers for Monday’s rally said the event was not focused on Scott, but everyone who has been killed from use of force.
