CONVERSE, Texas – A Converse family says it has been nine months since they last saw Patrick Clark.
The 21-year-old drowned over the Fourth of July holiday in Port Aransas as his little brother looked on, helpless.
"I got a phone call from my 13-year-old son telling me that Patrick was drowning,” Letisha Kind said.
The grieving mother said two weeks after Clark went missing, a fisherman found his body.
But it is the fact that he is still in Corpus Christi that hurts his family most.
"He's buried in Corpus, and I knew nothing about it. So it’s more upset than hurt," Kind said.
The Nuece County medical examiner said that the delays are likely due to three things: attempts to identify Clark coincided with another missing person, his body was found in Aransas County and the length of time DNA testing takes.
For now the family is left waiting and raising Clark’s daughter.
The man’s first born child, Passion, was born weeks after her father’s death.
“I been prayin' to God that he send my baby home," Kind said.
