Kansas cop fired for threatening woman and her daughter

A police officer with the Overland Park Police Department was fired following an incident on Facebook.

Former officer Rodney Wilson commented on a photo LaNaydra Williams posted of her daughter in 2014.

The photo shows Williams’ daughter posing for the camera.

Wilson commented on the photo, saying:

“We’ll see how much her life matters soon. Better be careful leaving your info open where she can be found :) hold her close tonight, it’ll be the last time.”

Williams said she hasn’t ever been to Kansas and has no idea how Wilson found her Facebook page. 

“During the investigation, by our Professional Standards Unit, we learned our officer did in fact make this post,” OPPD Police Chief Francis Donchez said. “It was obvious that our officer did not meet the standards of professionalism for the Overland Park Police Department. Overland Park has terminated the officer, effective immediately.”
