SAN ANTONIO – A Northeast Side man is accused of using a gun and his fists to beat up the mother of his child.
James Lee Pankey, Jr., 46, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a San Antonio Police Department affidavit.

In April, Pankey entered his son's mother's home while she was in the shower, taking her phone and beating her head, back and shoulders, according to investigators.
The woman told investigators that Pankey wanted to talk about his drug problem, then threatened her life, saying he was going to kill her then himself.
During this time, their son came home, and he and his mother left the home, calling police from a nearby CVS Pharmacy.
Police caught up with Pankey, who hid the gun and fled the home after the April incident.
