Family mourning after man found dead in car

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers

SAN ANTONIO – James Wallace was days away from his 36th birthday. Now family members are making different plans for that day, burying him.

Wallace was the victim of a violent crime over the weekend, leaving a void in their close-knit family.

Regina Bell said she was in disbelief her baby brother, James is gone.

"He was going to be 36 on Tuesday, his birthday," said Bell. "And now, we are having to bury him on his birthday."

Wallace was shot to death Sunday while he was driving on South Presa, which caused him to crash his car.

"Mother is hurting," Bell said. "She lost her son. Someone took that away. They had no right to take her baby, our brother."

Bell said her brother, although the youngest, was very protective of his family and now that he's gone, there's a big piece of the family missing.

"He was always looking up to his older brother," she said. "He loved his kids. He always wanted family, always wanted love. He wanted everybody to be together."

Now Bell just wants to know who tore her family apart.

"Let the detectives know," Bell said. "We want justice for my brother."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP.
