One man was killed and another man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Monday afternoon near Lanier High School.

San Antonio Independent School District spokeswoman Leslie Price said the school was placed on lockout, which means students and staff can move within the school but they can't leave the campus.

Police Chief William McManus said there was no danger to the campus or the neighborhood.

He said the shooting, which was reported around 1:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Torreon, was drug-related.

"There's more to this, but I can't talk about it right now," he said to reporters.

McManus said the deceased victim was shot in the upper body. He was in his late 20s or early 30s.

The other victim, who was in his 50s, was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

McManus said multiple shots were fired.

Police are looking for a light-colored white or silver four-door car.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP (7867).
