Man accused of sexually assaulting woman during 11-year period

Abuse by Urbano Garcia began when alleged victim was 13, police say

SAN ANTONIO – Urbano Quintanilla Garcia, 75, has been arrested in connection with a child sexual assault case that dates back more than a decade.

The alleged victim, who is an adult now, said the abuse began in 2004 when she was 13-years-old, but continued up until last month.

An arrest warrant affidavit said that the woman told investigators Garcia would sexually assault everyday during the first year of that abuse. She said he would sometimes use foreign objects to sexually assault her, the affidavit a said.

Garcia was arrested Saturday on multiple charges including continuous sexual abuse of a child.

In the affidavit, investigators asked a judge for Garcia to be placed on electronic monitoring because he has ties to Mexico and represents a flight risk.
