SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist was run over and killed Friday afternoon by an 18-wheeler on the city's far West Side.
Police said the motorcyclist was traveling west on the access road of Loop 410 and Highway 151 around 12:15 p.m. when he hit a barrier as he tried to get on the Loop.
The man fell off his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was run over by the 18-wheeler, said Officer Jesus Reyes, with the San Antonio Police Department.
The victim died at the scene, police said.
"Just know that the 18-wheeler did stop for the accident, and he waited for us to get out here," Reyes said.
Reyes said the driver of the big rig had no chance to stop in time.
The accident is still under investigation. It is unknown if charges will be filed against the driver of the big rig.
