Man charged with murder in 2015 hit-and-run

Salvador Cabrera-Perez accused of running down two men with SUV

SAN ANTONIO – A man was arrested and charged with murder in connection with running down and killing a 24-year-old man with an SUV.

According to an arrest affidavit, Salvador Cabrera-Perez, 24, and a friend got into an argument around 2 a.m. on Oct. 12, 2015, with two other men in the parking lot of the Tres Amigas Bar on 10703 Pleasanton Road.

When Cabrera-Perez backed out of a parking space, a man kicked one of the doors of the SUV, the arrest affidavit said.

Cabrera-Perez's passenger yelled at the man, "You're going to pay for that!" the arrest affidavit said.

Moments later, the SUV accelerated and hit Raul Llana-Arriaga and another man, the arrest affidavit said. Llana-Arriaga was killed.

Three months after the incident, the other man who was hit recovered from emergency surgery and told police what happened, the arrest affidavit said.

The witness identified Cabrera-Perez as the driver in a six-man photo lineup, the arrest affidavit said. He also identified the passenger through Facebook.

Cabrera-Perez is also charged with aggravated assault.
