SAPD still trying to ID suspects in brutal killing of South SA woman in 1995

Virginia Jeffreys, 67, killed in her home

No description found

SAN ANTONIO – Thieves had already stolen from Virginia Jeffreys' South San Antonio trailer twice. The third time someone came to her home, Jeffrey's did not survive.

San Antonio police believe Jeffreys was in her home at 1515 Mission Road on Oct. 15, 1995, when it was burglarized. Thieves struck again the next day -- most likely, police said, with Jeffreys again inside.

Police aren't sure if it was Oct. 16 or Oct. 17 when someone beat and stabbed her.

Jeffreys was found by a neighbor who called police on Oct. 17 after finding her body and seeing the trailer ransacked.

"Although there have been several suspects in this case, investigators are still looking for witnesses or evidence showing who the person or persons were who murdered Virginia Jeffreys," police said.

SAPD's Cold Case Squad is investigating the crime. If you have any information, call 210-207-7635.
