SAN ANTONIO – Police are trying to sort out the details between the number of shots fired versus the number of people hurt during a shooting at the Saint Showbar.
Authorities said two people were taken to the hospital.
The Saint Showbar closed its doors in October 2015, but the once popular club is now a crime scene. Investigators were busy Saturday, taking photos and collecting evidence after the shooting about 7 a.m.
“For some reason, there was an argument that ensued inside. During the process, someone pulled out a handgun,” said Sgt. Benjamin Connell, with the San Antonio Police Department.
Witnesses said only one shot was fired, but two people were wounded and taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center.
Police said one person was grazed in the head by a bullet. The second victim, a woman, was shot in the lower body and had to undergo surgery. She’s expected to recover.
The Saint Showbar is closed for business, but authorities said the six people inside were in the process of fixing up the bar in preparation for a grand opening.
Police are still trying to figure out how the shooting happened. They said everyone at the scene is cooperating with their investigation.
At this time, no arrests have been made.
