TUESDAY
They recruited young women to participate in what they claimed was a “covert undercover operation to catch drug lords, terrorists and other criminals,” according to prosecutors. That is what they told the jury as the trial of former San Antonio police Officers Alejandro Chapa and Emmanuel Galindo began Tuesday. || A man believed to be involved in Tuesday's shooting of two Houston police officers was shot and killed, authorities said. Houston police Chief Art Acevedo said Officer Ronnie Cortez, a 24-year veteran of the department, was shot several times in the stomach and back. Officer Jose Munoz, a 10-year veteran of the department, was shot in the foot and leg, Acevedo said. || A father initially charged with capital murder in the 2011 deaths of his daughter, her mother and a family friend will soon be out on parole. After reaching a plea deal with prosecutors, Conrad Ochoa pled guilty to a child pornography charge, which called for a 10-year prison sentence.
MONDAY
Former President George W. Bush says "we all need answers" on the extent of contact between President Donald Trump's team and the Russian government, and he defended the media's role in keeping world leaders in check. || The Bexar County sheriff has agreed to continue to detain undocumented immigrants at the county jail, if they're flagged by Immigration and Custom's Enforcement officials. "I feel that we're being held hostage almost," Sheriff Javier Salazar said. || A Texas lawmaker wants the state's top law enforcement agency to look into Baylor's sexual assault scandal and whether school officials worked to cover up crimes.
And the Oscar goes to …
O-M-G! It was Miss Universe 2.0, only this time Steve Harvey was watching from home. What will be the most talked about moment, 'Moonlight' won the Academy Award for Best Picture after it was announced that 'La La Land' had won. Oh yeah! The biggest night in Hollywood did not disappoint. In accepting the award for best supporting actress at the 89th Academy Awards, Viola Davis didn't talk politics: She praised the art. Host Jimmy Kimmel set that tone right from the start, taking swipes at the president and praising actress Meryl Streep. Click here for a complete list of winners.

A grease trap is to blame for a fire at a Logan’s Roadhouse on the far West Side Sunday night. The restaurant is in the busy Alamo Ranch Shopping Center near the intersection of Loop 1604 and Highway 151.

The Bexar County Fire Marshal's Office is looking for a missing arson investigation K-9 named "Villy." The canine is an accelerant detection dog who sniffs out fire scenes.
Seeking closure
As the sun set at Hobby Middle School Sunday night, the light from candles shone in the parking lot where friends and family gathered to remember Gilbert Aaron Rocha. Investigators said Rocha, who was known as Aaron to his loved ones, was killed the morning of Nov. 26 in some type of road rage incident on Huebner Road near NW Military Drive after someone in another vehicle shot at the SUV in which Rocha was a backseat passenger.
