SAN ANTONIO – Three Bexar County deputies were injured Wednesday trying to stop an inmate from escaping.
The Sheriff’s Office said just before 10:50 a.m., inmate Thomas Anthony Trevino, 34, was in a cell in the Bexar County Jail’s infirmary.
Just before 11:15 a.m. he was reported missing, and in less than 15 minutes he was found in the jail’s ceiling.
The three deputies who found him got him out and suffered minor injuries in the process.
Trevino was initially booked on two counts of assault and a controlled substance charge. He is now facing additional charges, including attempted escape and assaulting a public servant.
