Former Seguin ISD superintendent faced sexual harassment claim before resignation

SEGUIN, Texas – Documents newly obtained by KSAT revealed that former Seguin Independent School District Superintendent Stetson Roane was placed on administrative leave in January, four days after a district employee filed a sexual harassment complaint.

Roane signed a resignation agreement with the district a month later, releasing him from any claims regarding acts or events prior to the Feb. 28 signing.

KSAT filed an open-records request March 3 and received a copy of a letter from the district's attorney to the state attorney general regarding the request. The letter argued that the release of details of the claim would compromise the identity of the complainant and witnesses.

The alleged incident took place while Roane and the employee were away at a conference.

KSAT also requested an audio recording between Roane and the district’s investigator, but that has not been released.

Roane received six months pay, nearly $95,000, as part of his resignation agreement.
