ENNIS, Texas – A Texas couple may be on to something after they caught a record-breaking Largemouth Bass at a Texas lake earlier this month using a McDonald's Chicken McNugget.
According to a Facebook post by the Highview Marina, Matthew McNellis and his girlfriend Ashley Crumby went fishing on Lake Bardwell just South of Dallas when they caught a 10.802 pound Largemouth Bass that measured 24-and-a-half inches long.

"It was just a whim. We tried all kinds of lures that day and no luck," said McNellis. "My girlfriend Ashley said 'Why don't you try that chicken nugget?'"
The bass broke a lake record.
McNellis credited the catch to a McDonald's Chicken McNugget.
