Love triangle triggers fatal shooting in hotel parking lot, police say

Shooting reported at Motel 6 on W.W. White Road

SAN ANTONIO – A man who police said was involved in a love triangle was shot and killed Friday afternoon on the city's East Side.

Police Chief William McManus said that a woman who works at a Motel 6 in the 100 block of North W.W. White Road got into an altercation with her new boyfriend.

Minutes later, the old boyfriend showed up, and the two men exchanged gunfire at very close range in the parking lot, McManus said.

The new boyfriend was killed.

The old boyfriend drove away in what was believed to be a black Dodge Charger, McManus said.
