SAN ANTONIO – Texas Parks and Wildlife officials released a list Thursday of locations to watch the upcoming solar eclipse safely.
The solar eclipse will take place on Aug. 21. According to NASA, everyone in the contiguous United States will see at least a partial solar eclipse. The path of totality will pass through portions of 14 states.

NASA estimates the sun will be obscured by about 61 percent in the San Antonio area.
The last time the contiguous U.S. saw a total eclipse was in 1979. Below is a list of Texas parks locations and information how to watch the eclipse. Many are having viewing parties and eclipse-related activities.
