ROCKPORT, Texas – At least two people are trapped in collapsed buildings in Rockport after Hurricane Harvey made landfall Friday night, Rockport City Manager Kevin Carruth told the ABC affiliate in Corpus Christi.
A preliminary storm report from the National Weather Service said several buildings in Rockport collapsed in the storm and that wind and debris have broken patrol car windows.

Carruth said the roof of a senior center collapsed injuring several inside the building. Rescuers were able to take the injured to a local jail that is being used as a medical center during the storm.
As of 12 a.m. Saturday, 10 people were treated from storm damage, but it is unclear if the 10 people were from the senior center roof collapse.

According to the Associated Press, emergency officials are struggling to respond to calls for help due to weather conditions.
Rockport Fire Department Chief Steve Sims said it will be about eight hours before firefighters will be able to do assess damages throughout the city, but said Rockport suffered considerable damage from the storm.
Earlier Friday, Rockport City Manager Patrick Rios advised residents who opted to weather the storm to write their Social Security number and name on their arm in Sharpie marker.

The Nueces County Record Star reported Rockport High School was destroyed in the storm. We have a crew en route to confirm damages to the city.
It's been reported that Rockport High School has severe damage due to Hurricane Harvey strong winds. Reports are saying that people were inside the building.
