PREVIOUS STORY:

Hillcrest Elementary, located at 211 West Malone Avenue, has been evacuated due to an odor of gas, San Antonio ISD officials said.

SAISD officials said students are safe and have been transported from Hillcrest to nearby Burbank High School.

Students are currently in the auditorium and officials said lunch has been arranged by the district.

CPS Energy crews are at Hillcrest to determine where the smell is coming from. It is believed to be coming from a gas leak in the neighborhood.
