SAN ANTONIO – They were what a veteran detective called “cold-blooded killings.” Killings in which Antoinette Martinez, 22, admitted taking part.
Portions of her confession were read to the jury Wednesday during Martinez’ trial on capital murder charges.
“She has Cameo take him out to the field,” SAPD Detective Jesse Luna said as he read from Martinez’ confession. “Cameo shoots him.”

He was talking about Cameo Cline, Martinez’ friend.
Luna said that Martinez said the couple planned to rob Steven Rendon, 19, and then take him to a rural Bexar County field and kill him.
She admitted that five days earlier the couple killed Xavier Cordero under identical circumstances. Both men were lured to Martinez’ apartment with a promise of sex, she said.
Cline has since admitted his role in the slayings and as part of a plea agreement is serving two life sentences.
If she is found guilty of capital murder, Martinez is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Testimony is expected to continue Thursday in Judge Catherine Torres-Stahl’s 175th District Court.
