SAN ANTONIO – The 53-count indictment against John Morgan Campbell, 66, alleges that he possessed and promoted child pornography during a several-month period in early 2014.
During hearings prior to jury selection, the number of counts in the indictment was reduced from 61 to 53.
Campbell is accused of seeking, acquiring and possessing nude, sexually explicit pictures of young men under the age of 18 years.
The indictment alleges that the images were “promoted by internet digital transmission” using a variety of platforms.
Testimony is scheduled to begin on Wednesday in Judge Cathrine Torres-Stahl’s 175th District Court.
If convicted, Campbell faces up to 600 years behind bars.
