Man stabbed after bar fight on the River Walk, police say

Man, 27, treated at hospital for stomach wound

SAN ANTONIO – A 27-year-old man is being treated at a local hospital for a stab wound that he suffered in an attack near the River Walk downtown.

San Antonio police found the man around 2 a.m. Friday, suffering from a stab wound to his stomach near the corner of N. Presa and Crockett.

An officer at the scene said he had been involved in a fight at a nearby bar before he was attacked on the street.

A police report released later, however, did not mention the bar fight.

It says another man was found unconscious on the ground near him. Police believe he also was injured in the attack, which was carried out by a group of men.

The report said the man who was stabbed as well as two witnesses all refused to cooperate and give information about the attackers.

Police said the stabbing victim told them he did not know who attacked him.
