VIA bus hits utility pole, sending live wires onto street

SAN ANTONIO – A VIA bus hit a utility pole Monday morning at the intersection of W. Quincy and Richmond. 

The collision caused the pole to fall and sent live wires onto the street in front of the bus. Nobody was injured.

CPS Energy crews responded and made repairs. Passengers stayed on the bus until the area was secured. They were then transferred to another bus. 

CPS Energy used the situation as a reminder for people to stay away from downed power lines.
