"Our T-6 crews and maintainers are the most professional, knowledgeable and experienced in the Air Force. I have full confidence that our T-6 aircraft are safe to fly and that our pilots are eager to get back to their mission -- training airmen," said Col. Mark S. Robinson, the commander of the 12th Flying Training Wing.

Two crew members, Lt. Col. Lee Glenn and 1st Lt. Nicholas Donato, ejected safely from the aircraft. They were treated at a military clinic and were released.

The crash was blamed on engine failure and, after careful review of the facts and performance history, and consultation with experienced aircraft maintainers and pilots, Robinson determined that the engine failure was isolated to the specific aircraft involved and not a larger fleetwide concern. He then authorized resumption of flying operations.
