Family wants closure after decade-long unsolved murder investigation

SAN ANTONIO – The family of a man who was killed 10 years ago is still desperate for answers as the case is still unsolved.

That man, Raymond Bustamante, and a woman, Yolanda Lucas, were found shot to death at a location that used to be known as the Pop a Top Sports Bar in Somerset.

Bustamante’s sister said it has been a tough decade for their entire family.

“We lost his wife, my other sister, my dad and my other brother,” said Yolanda Perez. “They passed away without having any kind of closure. Not knowing what really happened or who did it.”

Perez said they just want closure.

“If it was his fault, then so be it,” said Perez. “Maybe someone had a reason, I don’t know. We just want you step forward and give yourself up and don’t be a coward.”

Perez said she lost her memories and pictures of her brother in a fire, but she has not forgotten what happened the morning she was told the news that Bustamante was shot and killed.

“I was sleeping,” said Perez. “Then I got the call and came down as soon as I could. The real tragedy is that they left him for dead. They left him there. But the biggest tragedy is that my father found out about his death because he saw his motorcycle on the news.”

She said despite going through more losses over the years and still being left without closure, she still forgives whoever is responsible for pulling the trigger.

“God said you have to forgive to be forgiven,” said Perez. “I believe in forgiveness, but I won't forget.”

If you have any information about the crime, you are urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at 210-335-6070.
