SAN ANTONIO – The Nextdoor app is making trick-or-treating easier for parents. The app brought back its treat map feature, which shows which neighbors are handing out Halloween treats and which neighbors have organized a haunted house.
The app added a new teal pumpkin icon for neighbors handing out non-edible treats for trick-or-treaters with food allergies.

According to Food Allergy Research and Education, one in 13 children has a food allergy that will prevent them from collecting treats on Halloween. The new icon allows for parents of children with food allergies to plan their Halloween route accordingly.
Members of the community will be able to add their home to the treat map all month long and Nextdoor subscribers can take the map with them on their mobile phones.
