SAN ANTONIO – A Pleasanton Police Department probationary officer is no longer part of the force after he was arrested this week in San Antonio on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Abel Mota Jr., 26, was arrested by San Antonio police just before 3 a.m. Tuesday near NW Loop 410 and Ingleside Drive, on the city's Northwest Side.

Pleasanton Police Department Chief Ronald Sanchez confirmed Thursday that he ended Mota's status as a probationary officer after his arrest.

Sanchez declined to comment further on the case.
