SAN ANTONIO, TX – Two Southeast Side men are facing charges of criminal mischief for allegedly stealing electricity by way of tampering with their electric meters.
An arrest warrant affidavit names both men as suspects in this case.
However, it appears only James Hubley, 40, has been arrested so far. He was booked into jail Sunday.
The affidavit said CPS Energy workers went out to their home, located on Bronco Billy Street, on two different occasions in September and October.
They say they found evidence both times of the men stealing electricity.
The affidavit said they tampered with their meter, thereby enabling electricity to bypass that system and freely flow into their homes.
After the second incident, the affidavit said, CPS Energy disconnected the transformer that had been breached.
The company estimated the damage at about $5,100.
