SAN ANTONIO – The medical examiner identified the man killed as 37-year-old Andrew McGarity.

UPDATE @ 10:45 a.m.:

A woman who San Antonio police say fatally struck a man with her car while he was walking on the sidewalk has now been identified. 

Police identified the woman as 32-year-old Melissa Nicole Woodard, who is facing several felony charges, including intoxication manslaughter and two counts of endangering a child. Her bail has been set at $200,000.

A man was killed Wednesday when a woman hit him with her car while he was walking on the sidewalk on the city's West Side.

Police said the driver, a woman in her mid-30s, was traveling in the 800 block of Enrique M. Barrerra Parkway when she hit the man from behind and swiped a utility pole. Police said the man was swept underneath the car and dragged between 150 to 200 feet to a street located between Southwest 38th and 39th streets.

The San Antonio Police Department's Traffic Investigations Division is looking into whether factors such as intoxication or speed played a role in the crash.

Police said the woman was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is being investigated for intoxication manslaughter. Additionally, police said a mandatory blood draw was arranged.

The driver and the victim have not yet been identified.
