Hawkins and her boyfriend were driving just north of downtown when a black sedan started chasing them.
Their vehicle crashed into a truck, and that is when someone inside the black sedan opened fire hitting Hawkins and her boyfriend.
They were rushed to University Hospital where Hawkins, who was 8 weeks pregnant, died from her injuries.
