SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police and Crime Stoppers are looking for the person responsible for fatal hit-and-run that happened on the city’s far West Side.
The crash happened Dec. 16 on the access road of West Loop 1604 North and Westwood Loop.
According to police, Genoveva Conoway was traveling south on the access road of Loop 1604 in a 2014 red Toyota Camry when the driver of a blue 2013 Chevrolet Camaro disregarded a stop sign at an intersection and then crashed into her vehicle. That’s when, police say, as she exited her vehicle and walked to a private driveway, an unknown vehicle traveling south swerved to avoid crashing into her vehicle but instead went onto the sidewalk and struck her.
Conoway was found in a grassy median and taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where she later died. The driver of the unknown vehicle fled without stopping to render aid.
