Wednesday night’s drawing is the largest jackpot for Lotto Texas since May 29, 2010, when the advertised jackpot reached an estimated $97 million. The largest Lotto Texas jackpot in game history was an advertised $145 million prize in June 2004.
The estimated cash value option for Lotto Texas is currently $44.2 million.
According to the Texas Lottery, nine players matched 5 out of 6 numbers for Monday’s drawing, which pays out an estimated $3,066, unless you pay for the Extra option which adds an additional $10,000 to the prize.
Lotto Texas drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:12 p.m. Players select six numbers from 1-54 for $1 per play. You can also purchase the Extra add-on feature for $1 more per play for a chance to increase your non-jackpot prizes up to $10,000.
“As excitement for this jackpot prize increases, we want to remind our players to play responsibly. It only takes one ticket to win,” executive director of the Texas Lottery Gary Grief previously said in a press release.
LottoNumbers.com currently lists the Lotto Texas jackpot as the third largest in the world behind the Powerball and EuroMillions.
