SAN ANTONIO – A gunman opened fire outside a popular nightclub north of downtown early Monday, wounding three people.
Mike Rodriguez, manager of Pegasus, said an argument outside the club in the 1400 block of North Main erupted into gunfire when someone said a racial slur.
"Two gentlemen were getting food. A man behind them said it was taking too long, called one of the gentleman a name. They started to argue and fight security broke it up, escorted them out. One of the gentleman went to his car and got a gun, stood at the corner and fired three shots," Rodriguez said.
An employee and two patrons suffered non-life-threatening injures, police said.
Rodriguez said the victims were not involved in the argument.
The shooter fled the scene.
Rodriguez said he is going to take precautions in hopes of preventing more violence.
"We are going to beef up security," he said. "More than likely get an armed guard presence here, be more vigilant."
