Authorities seeking Texas teenager feared to be with predator she met on social media

ORANGE, Texas – Authorities are looking for a 15-year-old girl from Orange who was reported missing on Sunday. The girl's mother fears she may be with a "predator" she was talking to on Snapchat.

Heaven Cox was given the designation of "critically missing" by the the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Cox's mother, Tammy, took to social media to give her daughter's case more attention.

"The man she has been talking to is a predator, who has apparently been manipulating her for some time, and in her current state of mind, she believes that he is her friend," Tammy wrote in a post that has been shared more than 1 million times. "She left a goodbye note to me and her Dad, and said that she wouldn't have a phone, so I'm sure he has taken it from her, as it isn't here, and I have torn her room apart." 

Tammy said that her daughter had been talking with a "grown man from California on Snapchat." She said her daughter, five feet three inches tall with blond hair and brown eyes, and has a "mental illness and is currently in a manic phase due to being off her medication."
