Bear walks through hotel lobby, climbs on couch while employee calmly takes video

Surprised hotel employee records video of the bear's visit

No description found

What would you do if a bear walked into your place of employment? Run? Hide under your desk? Either would seem a reasonable reaction. One hotel employee, however, calmly took out his cellphone and recorded the situation.

It happened at the historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.

In the video, which was posted on the hotel's Facebook page, the bear is seen sauntering through the hotel lobby. It climbs up on the couch for a few seconds and across the coffee table. It looks around the place and them nonchalantly walks away.

Hotel employees think the animal managed to unlock a latch on a door of the iconic hotel to get in.

Apparently, the bear wasn't looking for trouble because it left the way it came in, without much fanfare, and thankfully, without causing any damage.

The hotel's website boasts of a pet-friendly policy but states that only dogs weighing less than 50 pounds are allowed.

The Stanley has had some pretty famous visitors. It's most known for being the inspiration for Stephen King's novel, "The Shining."

The hotel is considered one of the most haunted hotels in America. So, who knows -- maybe it was just a ghost?
