SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Adult Detention Center has passed its latest state inspection.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar was notified Friday after a weeklong inspection, according to a BCSO news release.

Salazar said the county jail passed with no deficiencies, and is in full compliance with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.
Compliant facilities are required to meet standards in health services, discipline, sanitation, booking and release practices and inmate services.
Inspectors inspected cells at the main jail, the annex and the Bexar County Courthouse complex. They also interviewed inmates and staff.
The jail is one of the largest in Texas and the 16th largest in the nation, officials said.
In fiscal year 2016, more than 54,480 offenders were processed through the jail.
The average inmate population for calendar year 2016 was just under 3,600, officials said.
