Below is the news release from Border Patrol:
The discovery was made when the vehicle was referred for secondary inspection following a canine alert. Rather than pull into secondary as directed, the driver, a United States citizen, continued driving north in an attempt to avoid the inspection. The tractor-trailer eventually stopped and the driver was taken into custody. Agents found 14 immigrants sitting at the bottom of the hauler, covered by a tarp. The undocumented immigrants were offered medical attention, to which they declined.
The driver was arrested and referred for prosecution. The immigrants will be processed accordingly.
