KATY, Texas – The 255-foot-long car wash at the new Buc-ee’s in Katy was recognized by Guinness World Records on Thursday as the world's longest.
The mega-wash boasts 25 foam brushes, 17 blowers and takes about five minutes to get through from beginning to end.

"Actually, it didn't occur to us when we were designing this car wash that this day might happen," Arch "Beaver" Aplin, co-founder of the convenience store chain, said. "We just set out to design and build the best car wash in the world."
Free car washes were offered at the Katy location until 8 p.m. to celebrate the achievement.
Some drivers waited up to an hour for their wash.
A voucher was given to those who couldn't wait in line. It is valid through Nov. 26.
The car wash is part of the new 56,000-square-foot store that opened in September at Katy Freeway and Cane Island Parkway.
