SAN ANTONIO – The city of New Braunfels said Tuesday that a controlled natural gas burnoff will last until Wednesday.
The city said residents aren't in any danger but may see a 30- to 40-foot flame and hear a loud noise coming from the 1700 block of South Seguin Avenue, in the area of the old Owens Corning plant.

The burnoff is being conducted by the Tulsa Inspection Resources company. It is burning off 450 gallons of natural gas contained in a 28-mile pipeline.
It should last until 8 p.m. Tuesday, resume at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and end by 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The New Braunfels Fire Department is monitoring the burnoff.
