SAN ANTONIO – The parents of a 7-month-old boy were sentenced Wednesday to 10 years of probation in the death of their child.
The sentence was the recommended punishment from jurors after they found Marquita Johnson and Qwalion Busby guilty in February.

The couple was convicted of injury to a child by omission in the death of their son, Naeem Busby.
According to prosecutors, the couple waited too long to seek medical attention to treat Naeen's ear infection.
The couple treated their son with home remedies until he was taken to a hospital, prosecutors said.
Experts testified that the boy could have been treated with antibiotics.
Naeem's ear infection developed into sepsis, which caused his death, experts testified.
