SAN ANTONIO – The co-owners of Durizon Roofing and Construction were indicted on felony charges Thursday and if convicted, they could go to prison for life.
Mark Rodriguez and Richard Stevens were arrested in November after elderly people told San Antonio police the pair's company -- which closed that summer -- charged them to repair hail-damaged roofs, but never did the work.

A Bexar County grand jury indicted each of the men on one count of theft of the elderly of $150,000 to $300,000; one count of theft between $150,000 to $300,000; and 13 counts of exploitation of the elderly. Rodriguez faced an additional repeater count because he was previously convicted of murder.
The theft of the elderly charge is a first-degree felony punishable by five to 99 years or life in prison. A trial date has not yet been set.
Many customers told KSAT-12 they hired Durizon Roofing and Construction after their homes were battered by the April 2016 hailstorm. They said they gave the company thousands of dollars on the promise that work would be done, but that the company did not deliver.
The city of San Antonio revoked Durizon's license to operate when the complaints came pouring in.
San Antonio police said they had accumulated more than 50 cases by the time Rodriguez and Stevens were arrested. The Bexar County District Attorney's Office is asking anyone who may have been a victim of the roofing company to call its Elder Fraud Unit at 210-335-2311.
