The driver killed in the crash was identified as Daniel Gonzalez-Zapata, 22.

Firefighters and paramedics used the Jaws of Life twice in attempts to save a couple from a crashed vehicle, officials said. Despite rescuers' efforts, the driver of the pickup truck died.
A female passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, San Antonio police said.
According to police, the driver made a turn too quickly, lost control and crashed into a pole in the 1300 block of McCullough Avenue. The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
The truck was rammed between two poles. Rescuers said they cut open the roof of the vehicle but still could not reach the driver. According to officials the man was alert and talking. The truck was pulled out, and after nearly 45 minutes, rescuers were able to get the man out by cutting off the door. However, once they got him out, the man died, authorities said.
