Federal lawsuit filed in La Vernia hazing case

LA VERNIA, Texas – A federal lawsuit has been filed by the parents of a La Vernia High School football player over recent alleged hazing incidents at the school.

The parents, who were not identified in the lawsuit, are suing the La Vernia Independent School District, the high school’s principal, athletic director and team coaches.

There is no word on how much the parents are seeking for medical expenses and mental anguish.

Ten students have been charged with sexual assault. They are accused of hazing fellow teammates.
