Robert Contreras, 22, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

SAN ANTONIO – A suspect who dressed as Freddy Krueger and allegedly shot a man at a Halloween party on the city's Northwest Side back in 2016 has been arrested by San Antonio Police, an arrest warrant affidavit says.

Robert Contreras, 22, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Contreras, dressed as Freddy Krueger, along with two other individuals forced their way into a residence in the 2900 block of Aspen Meadow before creating a brawl both inside and outside the home with the victim and his friends.

A pushing match ensued between the three suspects, the victim and his friends before a one-on-one fight eventually developed, the affidavit said.

The affidavit said that as the victim got off the ground following the fight with a suspect, Contreras allegedly pointed a shotgun at the victim and fired, striking him in the abdomen.

Contreras and the other suspects then fled the scene, police said.

Investigators said the victim was shown a photo array and Contreras was identified by the victim as the person who shot him.

The other suspects involved have yet to be identified by police. It is not known if any other arrest have been made in the case.
