Information lacking in East Side homicide case

Donald Darden, 69, was found dead on July 20

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers want the public’s assistance in tracking down the person responsible for a homicide on the city's East Side.

Donald "Duck" Darden, 69, was found dead on July 20 inside his East Side home. According to police, family, friends and neighbors said the last time Darden was seen or heard alive was the weekend before he was found.

At this time, a motive for his death is not presently known.

Officials said they first ruled the death as natural but the medical examiner has concluded that Darden's death was in fact a homicide.

Anyone with any knowledge of the crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP.

Tips can also be texted to CRIMES (274637) or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
