Despite waking up in the wee hours of the morning, Good Morning San Antonio is an absolute blast!

The toughest part of my job is getting out of bed when the alarm goes off at 2 a.m. But I do it, day after day, because I know once I'm up, showered, and caffeinated, I will get to do what I love, with people I genuinely care about!

Every workday, I leave one family at home to join my other family at work. We really are like a family at KSAT.

Mark Austin is my work-husband. He knows I will bring the thermos of coffee every day, and I know he will make sure my cup is never empty!

Mark is my partner I know I can trust during fun times and breaking news. He will lift me up with laughter and share the burdens of delivering bad news. We have a natural rhythm that allows us to work well together and we have respect for each other's talents and experience.

Mike Osterhage is like my little brother (even though he is older than me!) He's the brother who can't sit still, is always air drumming or singing, and loves to hug! He's easy to pick on and has a heart of gold. Mike loves to tease, but is always there with a kind word of encouragement and a silly joke! While he can goof off with the best of them, he is also extremely knowledgeable and talented. He not only knows weather, but he knows San Antonio and when news is breaking we can always count on his input.

SAPD Detective Robert Dart is like my older brother (although I think I am older than him!) He's light-hearted and funny and is always happy and never complains. If you have a question about music or a movie, ask Robert and he will know the answer. He's also my "Words With Friends" buddy!

SAPD Officer Marcus Trujillo is like my dad. He's the protector! I know that no one would dare mess with me while he's around.

He wouldn't stand for it. But he really is a gentle giant. Underneath that hefty exterior is a man who really cares about people. There isn't much he wouldn't do for someone he cares about.

We are indeed a family, dysfunctional at times, but always there for each other. We all feel privileged to wake up this wonderful city every weekday and honored that so many people in San Antonio trust us to put a smile on their face, inform them about what's going on and get them out the door on time!
