“Elf”, starring actor Will Ferrell, is about a man raised as an elf at the North Pole who decides to travel to New York City to locate his real father.

“The Polar Express” tells the story of a young boy who embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express, while learning about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas.

Garden officials said the movies will be shown on the Greehey lawn and that hot cocoa, s’mores, and movie-inspired drinks and food will be available for purchase.

Guests are also welcomed to bring low-riding lawn chairs and blankets, the press release said.

Those interested in buying tickets can visit the Botanical Garden website ($15 adults; $10 child).
