SAPD: Woman, toddler killed in two-vehicle crash on Southeast Side

SAN ANTONIO – A woman who died in a car crash that also killed a toddler on Friday night has been identified.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said Aracelly Avalos Ramirez, 37, died of blunt force injuries she sustained during the crash in the 3700 block of East Southcross.

San Antonio police said Ramirez was driving an SUV eastbound in the westbound lanes of Southcross when she crashed into a gray sedan.

The sedan had a 48-year-old woman driving and had a 3-year-old passenger that was restrained with a seatbelt.

The toddler, identified as Rogelio Morales, also died from his injuries.

Witnesses told police the driver of the SUV was heading in the wrong way of traffic and dodging other vehicles multiple times shortly before the crash.

The driver of the sedan was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
