Van fire damages vacant mobile home, trailer just northwest of downtown

Fire was called in around 5 a.m. in 100 block of Albert St.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters responded to a fire on the near Northwest Side early Tuesday morning.

The fire was called in around 5 a.m. in the 100 block of Albert Street, not far from Culebra Road and North Zarzamora Street.

Firefighters said the fire appears to have started in a van and then spread to a vacant mobile home and trailer.

Several people were seen exiting nearby trailers. No one, however, was injured.

Firefighters are working to make sure the fire has been completely put out. They are worried sparks could catch the trailers that are nearby.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department website, as many as 10 units answered the call.
