Boy, 13, shot in head during drive-by shooting, in critical condition, San Antonio police say

Two suspects are still at large and were last seen driving a white Ford Mustang

SAN ANTONIO – A 13-year-old boy is hospitalized and in critical condition after San Antonio police say he was shot in the head while at his family’s home during a drive-by shooting.

The incident happened around 8:53 p.m., Friday, in the 500 block of W. Vestal Place.

Police said two suspects in a white Ford mustang convertible drove up to the boy’s home and opened fire.

Four people were inside of the residence at the time of the shooting and the 13-year-old boy was shot in the head while in his bedroom, according to officials. The other three people in the house were uninjured.

The boy was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

The suspects fled the scene westbound in their vehicle and they are still at large, police said.

Authorities believe the family’s home was the target of the shooting.

This is a developing story and we’ll bring more updates as they become available.
